Money Lessons From Midlife: Five Decades of Takeaways | HDM 425

This week I’m celebrating my 50th birthday and, as the saying says, there are some things you can only learn with age. Unsurprisingly, money lessons fit perfectly within that category.

Some people still believe that managing your finances effectively is something you only learn to do through seasons of trial and error. While I believe there’s value to that, my years of experience in this industry have taught me that, to get the most out of your experience, you don’t always have to go through the pain of trying and failing. Money lessons can be learned in gentler ways.

This is why, in this special episode, I’ll share 5 lessons I’ve learned over five decades on this planet. The goal? Inspire you to adapt these learnings to your life and start taking action.

What you’ll learn in this episode:

  • How your formative experiences shape the way you think about money.
  • How to navigate money and relationships (a tricky mix!)
  • Why your beliefs around money are bound to change over time.
