The Hidden (and Higher) Cost of Being LGBTQ+  | HDM 323

#323- The Hidden (and Higher) Cost of Being LGBTQ+ (1)

When it comes to financial stability or financial freedom, we all deserve to have the tools to achieve it, regardless of gender, age, sexual preference, or race. But the reality is that each group or community has its own challenges in achieving financial equality. This financial inequality also contributes to hidden and higher costs for them. Today our special guest, Ana Zamora, helps us understand  the hidden (and higher) cost of being LGBTQ+.

In this episode, Ana Zamora, a bisexual financial advisor for women and for members of the LGBTQ+ community, shares with us how her parents play an important role in her money story and what led her to become a financial professional. She also shares some of the retirement planning challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community and some tips to help them on their financial journey.

You will also hear the following in today’s episode:

  • The hidden costs which can hinder retirement planning  in the LGBTQ+ community
  • Ana’s tips for the LGBTQ+ community to help them have a spending plan and be successful
  • The one thing Ana would do (if she had a magic wand) to achieve financial equality for the LGBTQ+ community
